Some Democrats seem resolved to live out the next four years in hopes that there will be at least some semblance of a Democracy left to them in 2026-2028 to enable a soft landing from the go-go Trump years. Republicans are ecstatic that ,finally, the balance of Washington power has made a shift in their favor. I think most Boomers, Democrats or Republicans, are hopeful that the existential financial underpinnings of Social Security remain a third rail in Washington. Politicians seem sensitive to the large block of voters that the Boomer generation includes. Do contact your Congressional Representatives, the Executive Branch, and the Supreme Court (Google “How do I address a letter to my Congress Person,The Executive Branch the Supreme Court”) to make your views heard. Let’s hope that sensitivity prevails.
